Really clean design! How does it have so many views though lol. 1 rating, 165 views?

Not terribly untraditional but you executed this really well. The portrait is nearly flawless, even before you consider the fact you just used an office pen! I'll toss you a recommendation for the art portal. Keep up the good work!

KJayB responds:

Thanks! Yes it's definitely not the most original of ideas for untraditional, but I actually made a sculpture out of newspaper before realising it was 2D only. So this was my slightly less motivated entry.

Easy 5 stars on this one. You can tell you put a ton of work into this. The folds in the shirt looks completely natural, and you got a really finished look on the table top. I don't know who Malcolm Smith is so I can't speak for the accuracy of the face but I'm sure you did a good job with that as well haha! Keep it up. I wish I had the patience to spend that long on one piece.

BrandyBuizel responds:

Thanks so much! I'm glad the amount of time shows through.
In regards to who Malcolm is, he's just a friend with a very paint-able face.
Thanks again for the kind words :)

My Favorite Movie!

I knew this was you right when i saw it. I think I've seen your work somewhere else. (Twitter maybe?). Anyways, great job with this, the poses look pretty cool! I do think it would pop out a bit more if you thickened the linework, but little things like that come down to preference.

SentraTheDragon responds:

I have put pictures of different stages on my DeviantArt account and then shared it with my Twitter account. I also recorded my progress and put it on YouTube.

Thanks you for the advise on this piece. I always love to hear what I could improve the next time.

Great job! There's a ton of variation but it's all coherent! I just wish you wouldn't have mirrored it. It ends up looking a little flat that way.

Zherei responds:

True. This was just a warm-up sketch though, so I didn't want to spend too much time on it.

This is awesome! It works so well that I didn't even notice they were pencil shavings at first. The splattered bits of lead are a nice touch as well. I hope you get featured. Best of luck!

BekiRu responds:

Sorry, I just noticed now that someone wrote me :O (I'm new to this web site)
Thank you very much, you're so kind. It makes me really happy that you like it. :)

Awesome job! The camera shake really adds to the motion.

This turned out really well! You used a lot of interesting methods but it all still looks coherent. I especially like the texture of the glass. How did you put it on?

One thing I would change is the way the hair hangs on the left side. It seems to be a bit higher than it should. It's not super distracting though. The piece is still amazing!

Best of luck in the competition! I hope I can think of an idea worth trying, cause the theme is really unique this month.

inkdogcomic responds:

Thank you for your feedback :D and for the nice rating ^^
If you also compete in the competition, good luck :D
